Handgun Marksmanship Course
This is a 10-session course of handgun Marksmanship which comprises of several drills and activities to improve your overall skill of shooting semi-auto handguns.
In this 10-session course, you will learn the basics of Marksmanship using a semi-auto handgun and progress through several drills and activities such as:
- Two-hand Shooting
- Primary-hand only Shooting
- Support-hand only Shooting
- Shooting using a Shot Timer
- Reload Drills
- Firearm maintenance
- and several others
You will work with your instructor to identify gaps on your marksmanship (Grip, Stance, Trigger Control, Sight Alignment and Picture, Breath Control, Follow up and Rhythm), during every session and drill and you will primarily use a 9mm semi-auto handgun, and you will expect to shoot nearly 800–1000 rounds during this course.
The 10 sessions will be delivered as 2 sessions per week. In between, students are expected to practice dry fire at home to achieve predefined targets.
The 10-session schedule will be agreed between you and the Instructor.
The course starts with firearm safety orientation and review of ACTS-PROVE. Then, a brief discussion on Range Safety and Etiquette before proceeding into Live Fire. A typical session outline will look like the following:
- Safety Review: ACTS & PROVE
- Range Safety & Etiquette
- Verify Firearm & Ammo
- Using the target system and hanging out the target
- Loading/unloading the firearm
- Handling and shooting the firearm
- Handling malfunctions
For Safety reasons, un-casing and casing the firearm will be conducted by your Instructor.
By the end of the whole course, you will receive:
- Certificate of Completion.
- Tactical Badge Academy – Basic Marksmanship patch.
- The paper targets you shot.
- Analysis of your performance (verbally).
- A written Marksmanship Report will follow later by email that details your performance, scores and further recommendations.
